Dr. Nick Sutton is currently the proud Superintendent of Sandridge Elementary School District #172 near Chicago, Illinois.  Dr. Sutton has been a public school district administrator for over 10 years.  His passions include school climate, instructional professional development, and teacher evaluations.

Dr. Sutton has two master's degrees in educational leadership and was awarded his doctorate from Western Illinois University.  His dissertation focus was on examining the correlational relationship between instructional strategies and a school climate.  His research focuses on the relationship between instruction that impacts student achievement and interventions that perpetuates a positive atmosphere.  He was also the recipient of the 2018 Western Illinois University "Distinguished Young Alumnus" award and the 2016 Illinois Principal Association Western Region Principal of the Year.

In addition to being a district superintendent, Dr. Sutton owns and co-hosts an educational podcast called "Learning Through Leading."  A variety of topics related to education are explored, but there is a focus on ed-tech items.  Lastly, he will be the author of two upcoming books.  The first one is called "Make Professional Development Matter!"  It delves into how human nature and the personal lives of educators affect professional development and the research that supports how professional development can positively improve teacher instruction.  The second book is titled "Public Education After Covid-19.  Creating the New 'Normal.' " Its focus will be exploring all of the immense ways this unexpected pandemic will perhaps permanently impact public education.
